Translating to "Meadow of Gold," Sonamarg is a breathtaking high-altitude destination on the Srinagar–Leh highway. It is the gateway to the famous Thajiwas Glacier, where you can ride ponies across snow fields even in summer. The surrounding mountains, wildflower meadows, and crystal-clear streams make it one of Kashmir's most spectacular landscapes.

One of Kashmir's best-kept secrets, Doodhpathri — meaning "Valley of Milk" — is a pristine meadow at 2,730 metres. Its name comes from the milky-white streams that flow through its vast green carpets. Far fewer tourists reach here, making it perfect for those seeking peace, solitude, and raw natural beauty. The wildflowers in summer are absolutely spectacular.

The crown jewel of Srinagar, Dal Lake is a 18 sq km urban lake that has inspired poets and emperors for centuries. A shikara ride at sunrise is an experience unlike any other — floating past lotus gardens, floating vegetable markets, and ornate wooden houseboats. The lake is ringed by the Zabarwan mountains and is just minutes from our hotel.

Srinagar is home to three magnificent Mughal-era gardens — Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi — all built by Mughal emperors in the 17th century. Terraced in cascading tiers along the banks of Dal Lake, these gardens blend Persian symmetry with Kashmiri nature: fountains, chinar trees, flower beds, and panoramic mountain views in every direction.
