Srinagar's three magnificent 17th-century Mughal gardens — Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi — were built by emperors as royal retreats. Cascading in terraced tiers along Dal Lake's shores, these gardens blend Persian symmetry with Kashmiri nature: fountains, ancient chinar trees, and sweeping mountain vistas.
